Troubleshooting New Orthotics
Material & Thickness
If your brand new orthotics feel too soft, too hard, or significantly too thick or thin for your daily needs.

Don't Fit in Shoes
- Look for shoes with removable factory insoles and take them out first.
- Size up: Consider going a half-size up if needed to make room for full-length orthotics.
- Trim if needed: Carefully trim the soft top cover at the toe using your shoe's original factory insole as a stencil. Note: Does not void the warranty.
Mindset Shift: The shoe should adapt to the orthotic, not the other way around. Your custom insoles are the true medical foundation of your foot health.
Squeaking Noises
- The Powder Trick: Sprinkle baby powder or foot powder directly underneath the orthotic inside the shoe.
- Dryer Sheets: Place a cut-to-size fabric softener sheet beneath the plastic shell to eliminate friction.
- Add a Buffer: Apply a smooth piece of packing tape or moleskin to the bottom of the rigid base where it rubs.
- Give it Time: Squeaking is caused by new plastic rubbing on the shoe bed. It often resolves naturally after a few weeks.
Quick Fix: Most squeaking is temporary and easily fixed at home without needing to return or adjust your orthotics.
No Immediate Pain Relief
It is completely normal to not feel 100% relief on day one. Biomechanical realignment takes time.
The Break-in Period
Give your body time (weeks!) to adapt to the new support structure. Start slow, wear them for just 1-2 hours a day, and gradually increase.
Underlying Conditions
Orthotics might not be the *only* solution needed. If you have a severe, complex medical foot issue, discuss it directly with your healthcare professional.
Troubleshooting Old/Used Orthotics
Body Changes
Has your gait changed? Have you experienced weight fluctuations, injury, or surgery?
Solution: A completely new pair might be required to address your newly changed foot conditions and capture your current topography.
Worn Out Materials
Like any footwear, orthotics have a lifespan. Worn-out insoles lose their support and cushioning, making them significantly less effective over time.
- Check for wear: Look for severe pilling, tears in the top cover, or cracks in the plastic base.
- No New Kit Needed: We already have your custom 3D foot mold securely on file.
- VIP Savings: Returning customers unlock exclusive VIP pricing to replicate their exact clinical build.
Diminished Performance
Warning signs that your older orthotics are losing their effectiveness.
Increased Pain
A clear sign they have lost shock absorption.
Reduced Stability
The rigid base shell may have lost structural integrity.
Shoe Changes
Radically different shoe designs may necessitate a new build.
