Overpronation Orthotics:

Ultimate Overpronation Relief: Our therapeutic, custom orthotics are precision-engineered to provide dynamic motion control and stabilize the excessive inward rolling (overpronation) that causes widespread joint pain. These are not simply generic insoles; each device is custom-made from a precise mold of your foot to deliver a targeted balance of rigid arch support and flexibility, effectively realigning your entire lower kinetic chain, and come with a Bilt Labs warranty and guarantee.

Precision Correction

The core function of our custom orthotics for overpronation is providing immediate, robust resistance to motion. Our design features a deep heel cup and strategically shaped arch contour that limits excessive foot collapse. By correcting the angular misalignment, we reduce rotational stress on the ankle, knee, hip, and back, providing stability that non-custom inserts simply cannot achieve. This customized control provides lasting pain reduction and improved gait efficiency.

Unparalleled Performance

Built from your unique foot mold and detailed health information, we guarantee a truly precise fit that mass-produced supports cannot match. Choosing Bilt Labs is choosing a durable, evidence-based therapy that offers reliable support and improves gait alignment for long-term comfort and mobility. Backed by our lifetime shell warranty.

Understanding The Condition

What is Overpronation?

The Pathomechanics of Instability

Overpronation is when the foot rolls inward excessively after landing. While some pronation is normal for shock absorption, overpronation causes the arch to collapse completely, destabilizing your entire body.

This collapse triggers a chain reaction: the tibia (shin bone) rotates internally, which torques the knee and misaligns the hip. This is why overpronation is a leading cause of runner's knee, shin splints, and lower back pain.

Common Symptoms:

  • Bunions and calluses on the inside of the foot.
  • Inner knee pain (Runner's Knee) and Shin Splints.
  • Chronic arch fatigue and Plantar Fasciitis.
  • Uneven shoe wear (inner side wears out faster).

Fast Facts

  • Prevalence: Affects over 70% of runners to some degree.
  • Risk: Major cause of overuse injuries like IT Band Syndrome.
  • Correction: Motion control orthotics stabilize the heel and arch.

Why Orthotics Are The Primary Treatment

The goal of treatment is to Control Motion.

Custom orthotics for overpronation feature a firm medial post and a deep heel cup. This structural design "locks" the heel bone (calcaneus) into a neutral position, physically preventing the ankle from rolling inward. This stabilizes the entire kinetic chain from the ground up.

Background

Treating the Root Cause of Overpronation Pain

The Problem

Inward Collapse

Generic insoles are designed for comfort, not correction. They lack the rigidity to prevent the ankle from rolling inward, meaning your ligaments and tendons continue to bear the strain.

Result: Chronic instability and pain up the leg.
The Bilt Solution

Medial Stability

We capture your optimal arch height and heel position. Your custom orthotic provides a firm "medial post" that physically blocks the inward roll, keeping your ankle, knee, and hip aligned.

Frequently Asked Questions

Overpronation Relief

Can orthotics fix overpronation?
Orthotics correct the functional alignment while you are wearing them. By providing a firm wall against the medial arch and stabilizing the heel, they prevent the foot from rolling inward. This protects the ankle, knee, and hip joints from twisting forces.
Will this help my knee or hip pain?
Yes. Overpronation causes "internal tibial rotation," meaning your shin bone twists inward every time your arch collapses. This stresses the knee joint (runner's knee) and the hips. By stopping the foot from rolling, orthotics stop the leg from twisting, relieving pain further up the kinetic chain.
Do I need firm or soft support?
Overpronation requires firm, semi-rigid support. Soft drugstore insoles will simply collapse under the weight of your rolling ankle. Bilt Labs custom orthotics use medical-grade polymers that are strong enough to hold your foot in a neutral position under load.

Product & Service

How long does it take to receive my custom orthotics?
Once you place your order, we ship out your foot mold impression kit within 1-2 business days. After we receive your molds back at our lab, we design, build, and ship your custom orthotics within 21 business days.
Are these truly custom, medical-grade orthotics?
Yes. These are not "heat-moldable" or "shelf" insoles. They are custom-fabricated from a physical mold of your foot using the same medical-grade polymers and EVA foams we supply to podiatry clinics. Nothing is pre-made or off-the-shelf.
Do you take insurance or FSA/HSA?
We are approved and set up to accept insurance FSA/HSA cards directly at checkout. We can also send a detailed invoice for reimbursement. However, we do not bill insurance companies directly as that typically requires an in-person office visit.
How long will my custom orthotics last?
Bilt Labs custom orthotics typically last a minimum of 2-3 years. The orthotic shell itself often lasts longer (and has a lifetime warranty against breaking), but the top covers may show wear and can be refurbished.
What is your return/refund policy?
We offer a full 6-month trial period. If you are not fully happy with your orthotics by that time, you can return them for a full refund. We also offer 2 free adjustments during this period to ensure the fit is perfect.
Where are my orthotics made?
Your new custom orthotics are made in the United States. We are located in the Houston, Texas area. All fabrications, designs, and finishing are performed by experts right here in our Houston lab.
What is your warranty/guarantee policy?
Your orthotics include a Lifetime Warranty on the plastic orthotic shell against breaking or cracking. This does not include the top cover material, as that is a consumable item that naturally wears with use.
