Before You Suffer Another Morning Of Sharp Heel Pain...

"As a Board-Certified Podiatric Surgeon, the most effective way I treat plantar fasciitis is not with temporary gel cushions, but with a custom-molded semi-rigid shell that physically lifts the arch and stabilizes the heel to stop the fascia ligament from micro-tearing with every step."

Plantar Fasciitis Orthotics:

Ultimate Plantar Fasciitis Relief: Our therapeutic, custom orthotics are precision-engineered to stop chronic heel pain at the source. These are not simply generic insoles for Plantar Fasciitis; each device is custom-made from a precise mold of your feet to address the specific biomechanical faults contributing to your pain, and come with a Bilt Labs warranty and guarantee.

Precision Correction

The key to long-term relief lies in controlling excessive foot motion. Our semi-rigid design stabilizes the arch and controls overpronation—the primary cause of fascia strain. By correcting this underlying instability and absorbing impact forces, our custom orthotics drastically reduce tension on the inflamed plantar fascia ligament, promoting the optimal environment for healing.

Unparalleled Performance

Built from your unique foot mold and detailed health information, we guarantee a truly precise fit that mass-produced supports cannot match. Choosing Bilt Labs is choosing a durable, evidence-based therapy that offers reliable support and improves gait alignment for long-term comfort and mobility.

Understanding The Condition

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

The Pathomechanics of Heel Pain

Plantar Fasciitis is the inflammation of the thick band of tissue (the plantar fascia) connecting your heel bone to your toes. While often called an overuse injury, the root cause is frequently biomechanical misalignment.

When you overpronate (arch collapse), it creates a "tugging" effect on the fascia, straining it under load. This repeated stretching causes micro-tears at the heel insertion, leading to chronic pain and inflammation.

Common Symptoms:

  • Stabbing heel pain with the first steps in the morning.
  • Pain that triggers after long periods of standing or rising from sitting.
  • Tenderness at the bottom of the heel bone.
  • Pain that subsides during activity but returns shortly after.

Fast Facts

  • Prevalence: Affects 1 in 10 people at some point in their life.
  • Risk: Flat feet and high arches both increase risk significantly.
  • Correction: 90% of cases resolve with conservative treatment like orthotics.

The Problem

Why Generic Insoles Fail

Drugstore gels and foams are designed to compress. They cushion the impact but fail to stop the arch collapse that rips your plantar fascia.

Result: Temporary comfort, but the injury continues to worsen.
The Bilt Solution

Medical-Grade Correction

Bilt Labs custom orthotics provide a firm, structural foundation that holds your arch in its optimal position, allowing the fascia to heal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plantar Fasciitis Relief

Do custom orthotics and shoe inserts help plantar fasciitis?
Yes. Plantar Fasciitis is typically caused by biomechanical issues like overpronation (arch collapse) which stretches the plantar fascia ligament. Custom insoles and shoe inserts like Bilt Labs are molded to your unique feet to support the arch and stabilize the heel, manually lifting the strain off the fascia so the inflammation can heal naturally.
How much do custom orthotics and shoe inserts cost for plantar fasciitis?
At a clinic, custom orthotics typically cost between $400 and $800 per pair. Bilt Labs provides the exact same medical-grade custom inserts directly to you for $225, saving you approximately 50% by eliminating office visit fees.
What type of shoe insert or insole is best for plantar fasciitis?
The best insole for plantar fasciitis is one that offers firm structural support rather than just soft cushioning. A custom-molded orthotic insert that provides a deep heel cup and firm arch support is the clinical gold standard for long-term relief.
Why does my heel hurt so badly with plantar fasciitis during my first steps in the morning?

Morning heel pain is caused by the plantar fascia tightening and contracting overnight while you sleep. When you take your first steps, the fascia suddenly stretches out, causing micro-tears and sharp pain. Wearing custom orthotics during the day prevents this chronic strain, and consistent use helps reduce that morning stiffness over time.

Please note: Consult a healthcare professional for persistent foot pain.

Why are soft gel insoles ineffective for treating plantar fasciitis?
Soft gel or foam insoles only provide temporary cushioning without addressing the root mechanical cause of plantar fasciitis, which is arch collapse and excessive stretching of the fascia. Because they lack a rigid structure, they simply flatten under your weight. Bilt Labs custom shoe inserts use medical-grade polymer shells to physically hold your arch up and stop the strain at the source.

Product & Service

Are Bilt Labs shoe inserts and insoles truly medical-grade?
Yes. These are custom-fabricated from a physical mold of your foot using the same medical-grade polymers and EVA foams supplied to podiatry clinics. Each pair is reviewed for clinical accuracy to function as a true custom orthotic rather than a generic foam insole.
Do you take insurance or FSA/HSA for custom insoles?
We are approved to accept FSA/HSA cards directly at checkout for all custom orthotics and inserts. We do not bill insurance directly but provide a detailed invoice for reimbursement.
What is the warranty on custom shoe inserts?
Bilt Labs provides a lifetime warranty on the orthotic shell against breaking. We also offer a 6-month money-back guarantee with free adjustments.
How long does it take to receive my custom orthotics?
Once you place your order, we ship out your foot mold impression kit within 1-2 business days. After we receive your molds back at our lab, we design, build, and ship your custom insoles within 21 business days.
How long will my custom orthotics last?
Bilt Labs custom shoe inserts typically last a minimum of 2-3 years. The rigid shell itself often lasts longer (and has a lifetime warranty against breaking), but the soft top covers may show wear and can be refurbished.
What is your return/refund policy?
We offer a full 6-month trial period. If you are not fully happy with your custom insoles by that time, you can return them for a full refund. We also offer 2 free adjustments during this period to ensure the fit is perfect.
Where are my orthotics made?
Your custom shoe inserts are manufactured in our central Texas facility. All fabrication is performed by experts right here in the USA.

Better Than $500 “Medical” Orthotics

I’m a mailman with extremely flat feet. After going through 3 pairs of custom orthotics from doctor’s offices - to the tune of $500 EACH - none of which ever truly felt comfortable, I needed to find a better solution.

My wife had tried Bilt Labs and was over the dang moon about her orthotics. I tried their 2-pair deal and got the exact same custom food casting mold I’d used in the doctor’s office. That’s when I realized, the doctor’s, tho good at their jobs, were just middlemen when it came to the orthotics.

I cut out the middlemen and got a quicker turnaround time and orthotics that actually feel good on my feet! The attached photo is just a little longer than 6 months into wearing them and taken after 10 hours of trudging through snow & ice delivering mail and heavy packages. They still look in great shape (the front big toe area of the right insole is starting to peel just a tiny bit but I’m honestly surprised this hasn’t happened sooner, with how much abuse these things go through).

Instant relief

My wife gifted me the foot mold impression when my feet started hurting. I do have high arches, therefore I had to purchase work shoes/boots that accommodate my custom orthotics. It has been a great relief and pleasure to my high arches during my 10-14 hour work shifts!
Definitely recommend 👌🏼

I am very pleased with my orthotics. They sent a mold and customized them for me after I submitted some information. The price is better than at other places I have checked and they are custom made. It took awhile to receive them, but it was worth it. I didn’t even have to leave my house for an appointment.

The process of the foot impressions is icredibly

The process of the foot impressions is incredibly simple. I orderd my first pair of orthotics in June of 2026. Started the break-in on the daily basis as recommended and have been wearing them full time since then. Feet are not perfect but, feel drastically better -- to the point of ordering a second pair.

Great molds=Great results

I had a local orthotist help take my molds for my insoles. I can’t recommend having someone who knows what subtalar neutral looks like take your molds. That basically means you took the mold of your foot when it was neither pronated (rolled inward) nor supinated (rolled outward). It was crazy seeing the difference between my new and old insoles. The difference in support and overall quality was great for the price. My old ones cost me about $500 for one pair.

Best orthotic I've tried

I ordered these online after purchasing a locally made orthotic that fell apart after 4 months and was very hard to fit in my sneakers. These orthotics are so much more streamlined. Although I generally wear very cushion solid sneakers, they were causing too m7ch dorsiflexion in my toes. These custom inserts help greatly with fatigue, heel spurs, plantar fasciitis and metatarsal issues. So glad I bit the bullet and ordered these.

I have had arch problems since I was in my 20’s now I’m in my 60’s. I have had $700 insoles from a foot doctor and several pairs that I got from my chichiropractor these are the best most comfortable I have ever had made for me. They are so comfortable and no foot pain after a long day walking and being on my feet. They are very affordable and shipped right to my house. I love them and ordered 2 more pair for my other shoes.

I really appreciate the precision and the excellent customer service of Bilt labs orthotics. I was very hopeful it would solve my foot pain. However, mine turns out to be more structural and bone spurs and so they did not help. I do feel like if I didn't have the bone spurs, they would be excellent. Laura was the customer service representative that made it easy to get a refund.

Simply the Best Inserts by Far!!!

After trying numerous over the counter varieties and then going to a podiatrist for custom made (cost >$450 and had to go back twice; they still didn’t work), I tried Bilt Labs. The staff is exceptional and caring!!!

When they arrived and first used them my feet felt fantastic instantly. I went from having severe pain just walking short distances to immediately being able to run around in them!! Prior to receiving these I had given up being able to play tennis for nearly 18 months because I could only play a few games before I had to quit playing.

These inserts were live changing for me. I could now play competitively for an hour. However, after an hour of playing I started to notice some minor discomfort in my right foot. At first I ignored it. Then I decided to call BILT LABS.

The associate I spoke with asked me several questions about where the pain was on my foot and told me they would make a minor adjustment to my insole. They sent me a new right insole. It worked perfectly and I was able to play for hours without any discomfort. When I called Bilt back and told them, they sent me replacements for the right insert for the other pairs I had purchased.

Sine then I have purchased other pairs so I don’t have to keep moving them from shoe to shoe.

Thus far I have been using them for about two years. They are still working great.

I am very happy with Bilt Labs and Highly Recommend their product!!
