How to fix feet rolling out a.k.a supination?

I was looking at the wear pattern on my walking shoes the other day and noticed the sole is completely worn down along the outer edge. I realized that my foot seems to be rolling to the outside way too much when I walk, almost like I'm constantly standing on the outside of my foot (I think that’s called supination?). My feet have started feeling pretty tired after long walks, and I want to fix this before it messes up my knees. I've heard you can use special shoes or inserts, but I don't know where to start. I am 45 yo and walk 3 miles or so a day for exercise. What options are there for me?
