Bilt Labs is the best!

Bilt Labs is such a welcome relief from doctors that upcharge on orthotics by as much as 4 times the cost that Bilt Labs charge. The customer service is some of the best; especially Laura and Justin. I can't say enough good things about them. They are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and are a good testimony to the quality of this company! I highly recommend "Bilt Labs!"

A++ Customer Service

Laura M. of Bilt Labs was so helpful! My order needed to be re-mailed due to USPS challenges and the Team did it right away for a faster arrival date. This was huge and I was so thankful! I also appreciated the timeline updates and the guide that arrived with the foam kit to be aware of what would happen next. I can't wait to receive my insoles!

Bilt Labs--The Same Spectacular Service as Urthotics

This company is fantastic in so many ways. Firstly, the orthotics are the best I have ever had in decades of using orthotics. Using the foot impression system provided by mail, the technicians are able to provide a fit that has been far superior to all the podiatrists and PTs I have seen over the years. The customer service has been equally stellar. In particular, Laura has been a tremendous help. Since the full sole orthotics ( I was using the Everyday style which works out best in regular shoes) had worked out so perfectly, at one point I thought I would try a half sole orthotic which didn't work out as well for my foot structure. Laura advised me to send the orthotic back AT NO CHARGE and had it refurbished to a full orthotic with a cover of my choice (I chose the Active which was super comfortable in my sport shoes) and sent back to me with NO SHIPPING CHARGE. Bilt Labs has taken over the operation from Urthotics in a seamless fashion, keeping all customer records and the same wonderful technicians. I couldn't be happier with the quality and service this company provides!

Biltlabs

This company truly knows how to take care of their customers! My wife and I lost everything we owned in a house fire and I reached out to see how much it would cost to replace my orthotics and they sent me 3 pairs at no charge.

I loved the product before and now even more. I highly recommend Bilt labs and if you have any question reach out to Laura. She will help you with whatever questions you have!

Great Product, Great Service, # 1 Company

I first purchased two pairs of orthotics from Bilt Labs. They were great but was I unsure about whether to go with the Vegan Leather or EVA Foam top.
I went with the EVA foam. I sent two different tracings for size, my mistake. I cut one of the pair as best I could to match the other.
I decided I needed another two pair as I got tired of switching them between shoes.
Ordered the additional two pair with the Vegan Leather and decided on one tracing. They were great fit perfect, was able to easily slip my foot with sock into the shoe. Spoke with Laura, and she said they would be happy to resurface my first two pair with the Vegan Leather and resize the one I cut to match the other three pair for FREE. WOW !!
Let me say they are perfect, the turnaround was fast.
The quality of the work excellent and communication was constant.
I could not be any happier.
Highly Recommended to anyone who needs orthotics. Most likely will get a couple more pair.
Thanks again.

Frequently Asked Questions.

How long does it take to receive my recovered/refurbished orthotics?

Once an order is placed, we email you a prepaid return label to send us your orthotics that need a new top cover. Once we receive them here at the lab, we will recover/refurbish your orthotics and have them shipped out to you within 7-10 business days.

How long will my custom orthotics last?

Bilt Labs custom orthotics typically last a minimum of 2-3 years.  The orthotics themselves (plastic base) can and do last longer in most cases, however, most specialists recommend a remold after this timeframe as our feet continually change.

Unfortunately, there's no one-size-fits-all answer to how long top cover material on custom orthotics should last. It depends on a variety of factors, including:

  • User activity level: High-impact activities like running and jumping will inevitably wear down the top covers faster than low-impact activities like walking or casual everyday use.
  • Material quality: Different materials have different lifespans. Some higher-quality, more durable materials, like leather or certain types of foams, might last longer than simpler fabrics.
  • Footwear compatibility: Certain shoes can rub against the top covers more than others, accelerating wear.
  • Individual factors: Everyone's feet are different, and individual sweat and body chemistry can also contribute to material breakdown.

However, as a general guideline:

  • For moderately active users: Top covers could last anywhere from 6 months to a year.
  • For highly active users: You might need to replace them every 3-6 months.
  • For low-impact use: Your top covers could last up to 1-2 years.

Remember: Even within these ranges, it's important to pay attention to your own orthotics. Look for signs of wear and tear such as thinning, ripping, or excessive pilling. If the top covers are no longer providing enough cushion or comfort, it's time to replace them.

Do you take insurance or FSA/HSA?

We are approved and set up to accept insurance FSA/HSA cards. We can also send a detailed invoice that may be used for reimbursement for those with HSA/FSA accounts.

However, most insurance companies do not cover custom-made orthotics. If they do, they must be prescribed by a physician seen in person. Due to this, we do not currently work with any insurance companies.

Why should I recover my orthotics?

Custom orthotics endure regular wear and tear and will require some regular maintenance, especially for those who exert heavy use on their orthotics.

Orthotic inserts generally have a hard shell base. The hard shell base is what provides support to your feet. Over that base is the padding or top covers which provide comfort for your feet.

The top covers are important to the complete comfort of the orthotic insert. Once the top covers wear out, your inserts might not feel as comfortable as when they were new.

You can simply replace the top covers. Recover the existing shell, and your inserts will feel back to new!
