Metatarsalgia Orthotics:

Ultimate Metatarsalgia Relief: Our therapeutic, custom orthotics are precision-engineered to reduce painful pressure on the ball of the foot (metatarsal heads). These are not simply generic insoles; each device is custom-made from a precise mold of your foot to ensure specialized forefoot cushioning and a subtle metatarsal dome where necessary, effectively relieving pressure and improving natural gait. All our custom devices come with a Bilt Labs warranty and guarantee.

Precision Pressure Redistribution

The key to treating metatarsalgia is offloading the stressed metatarsal heads. Our design integrates specific features like a custom-height metatarsal pad positioned precisely to lift the painful area and redistribute weight back onto the main arches. This targeted approach, combined with custom arch support and deep heel cradling, significantly reduces forefoot impact and chronic pain, allowing for comfortable walking and standing.

Unparalleled Performance

Built from your unique foot mold and detailed health information, we guarantee a truly precise fit that mass-produced supports cannot match.

Choosing Bilt Labs is choosing an evidence-based therapy engineered for the demands of industrial and work environments. Backed by our lifetime shell warranty.

Understanding The Condition

What are High Arches?

The Mechanics of Cavus Foot

High Arches (Pes Cavus) are a condition where the arch of the foot is raised more than normal. This rigid foot type does not flatten enough to absorb shock, forcing the weight onto the heel and the ball of the foot (metatarsals).

This lack of shock absorption transmits impact forces up the leg and often leads to supination (rolling outward), causing ankle instability, shin splints, and knee pain.

Common Symptoms:

  • Pain in the heel and ball of the foot.
  • Frequent ankle sprains (instability).
  • Calluses on the outer edge of the foot.
  • Tight calf muscles and shin splints.

Fast Facts

  • Prevalence: About 10% of the population has high arches.
  • Impact: Poor shock absorption increases stress fracture risk.
  • Correction: Total contact orthotics redistribute pressure effectively.

Background

Treating the Root Cause of Instability

The Problem

Generic Insoles Fail High Arches

Most store-bought insoles have low or medium arches that don't even touch a high arch. This leaves a gap where support is needed most, forcing all the pressure onto your heel and ball of foot.

Result: Continued instability and pain from lack of support.
The Bilt Solution

Total Contact Support

We capture the exact height of your high arch in the mold. Your custom orthotic is built to fill that space completely, distributing pressure evenly across the whole foot and providing lateral stability.

Frequently Asked Questions

High Arches Relief

Can orthotics help high arches?
Yes. Custom orthotics are essential for high arches because they fill the void between your arch and the ground. This redistributes weight away from the heel and ball of the foot (where pain usually occurs) and provides the shock absorption that rigid high arches lack naturally.
Do high arches cause supination?
Yes, high arches are the primary cause of supination (underpronation), where the foot rolls outward. This leads to ankle instability and frequent sprains. Bilt Labs custom orthotics include lateral posting (a wedge on the outside) to gently tilt the foot back to a neutral, stable position.
Will these fit in my shoes with high arches?
Yes. High arches often make the top of the foot rub against the shoe. Our custom orthotics are designed to be low-profile while still filling the arch cavity, ensuring you get the support you need without making your shoes feel tight.

Product & Service

How long does it take to receive my custom orthotics?
Once you place your order, we ship out your foot mold impression kit within 1-2 business days. After we receive your molds back at our lab, we design, build, and ship your custom orthotics within 21 business days.
Are these truly custom, medical-grade orthotics?
Yes. These are not "heat-moldable" or "shelf" insoles. They are custom-fabricated from a physical mold of your foot using the same medical-grade polymers and EVA foams we supply to podiatry clinics. Nothing is pre-made or off-the-shelf.
Do you take insurance or FSA/HSA?
We are approved and set up to accept insurance FSA/HSA cards directly at checkout. We can also send a detailed invoice for reimbursement. However, we do not bill insurance companies directly as that typically requires an in-person office visit.
How long will my custom orthotics last?
Bilt Labs custom orthotics typically last a minimum of 2-3 years. The orthotic shell itself often lasts longer (and has a lifetime warranty against breaking), but the top covers may show wear and can be refurbished.
What is your return/refund policy?
We offer a full 6-month trial period. If you are not fully happy with your orthotics by that time, you can return them for a full refund. We also offer 2 free adjustments during this period to ensure the fit is perfect.
Where are my orthotics made?
Your new custom orthotics are made in the United States. We are located in the Houston, Texas area. All fabrications, designs, and finishing are performed by experts right here in our Houston lab.
What is your warranty/guarantee policy?
Your orthotics include a Lifetime Warranty on the plastic orthotic shell against breaking or cracking. This does not include the top cover material, as that is a consumable item that naturally wears with use.
